I watched “Maan Karate” over the weekend as part of our Friday
Movie Night. It started off ok, but was really bad in the second half. It
looked like AR Murugadoss produced the movie to show the money loss to income
tax. Sivakarthikeyan is ok but he should be careful selecting his movies. If he
is going to continue like this, he is not going to sustain the field.
Sivakarthikeyan danced way too good in all the songs. He was a treat to watch
in the songs.
On the downside, Hansika looked so bad in the movie. There is no
clear romance, chemistry, love episode etc. She lost lots of weight and her
skin looked bad and she looked very unhealthy in many scenes. I thought she was
cute in OKOK. Storyline was ok, but does not have a strong screenplay or
storytelling details. Songs were ok, but could not remember any of them.
I had read in few magazines and watched in TV about comparing
Sivakarthikeyan & Vijay Sethupathy like Surya-Vikram. Ajith-Vijay,
Simbu-Dhanush etc. But Vijay Sethupathy is way too ahead & clear in what he
wants and what he does. He is in a different league than Sivakarthikeyan. There
should be no comparison between him & Sivakarthikeyan. Sivakarthikeyan
should start selecting his movies carefully going forward. Acting with Hansika
should not be the ONLY cool thing to accept a movie.
Maan Karate – Will not recommend J.
